PBT EYE Heroes
PBT is fortunate to have dedicated staff, volunteers, and donors. Because of these amazing individuals and companies we are able to continue our mission to prevent blindness and preserve sight. Thank you to all our EYE Heroes who are helping to continue our mission, we could not support our community without you!
Thank you to PBT Circle of Caring member and vision advocate, Dr. Layla Lohmann: “Advocating with PBT and groups like them have changed my life and my perspective on expectations of my community. I have become passionate about accessibility, advocacy, and working with groups who help have access to available resources while connecting people with similar conditions to each other so people don’t feel alone. Imagine the ripple effect you can have by sharing your story so others don’t have to struggle alone. YOUR voice and story is such an incredible gift to give to someone who is feeling defeated by a condition or disease they are battling. I can confidently say advocacy helps personally support my mental health but also innovation, collaboration, and education with other groups and companies brings awareness even when it makes you feel vulnerable. Your story is the first step!”
PBT is fortunate to have a strong group of board members who volunteer their time and expertise to our organization. Thank you, Renee Rump, for serving: “My family has a history of eye problems from early on-set cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. I understand firsthand how important seeing clearing can affect your overall health both physically and mentally. My family has been lucky enough to have access to great eye care but not everyone has that luxury or truly understands why you must prioritize vision care. Poor vision can have a significant impact on a person’s quality of life, affecting their ability to learn, work, and engage in daily activities. This is why PBT’s mission is so important in educating people about the importance of vision care and providing access to those who may not otherwise have it. Through PBT, more people can receive the care they need to maintain good vision and improve their overall well-being. Being a part of PBT and its mission is truly an honor for me!”
