Join us at an upcoming event!
When you support a Prevent Blindness Texas event you are supporting the work we do which benefits the community by providing critical eye health information and by working with our partners to provide a continuum of quality vision care to medically under-served Texans, giving them a better quality of life.
Eye Stroll for Vision
The Prevent Blindness Texas Eye Stroll for Vision engages families and contributors in the vision community to educate and bring awareness to the importance of eye health. We focus on who PBT is, what we do, and how we do it in communities across the state. The audience is the public at large, professionals in the vision space, and those who encourage vision health at any level. This is an event for the entire family, groups of friends, and even teams of coworkers!
Join us in person at the Houston Zoo on October 12, 2024 and enjoy a morning stroll among the animals while raising money for crucial, sight-saving services. Zoo Walkers will wind their way through the zoo stopping to show off their costumes and learn animal vision facts. Door prizes, animal experiences, face painting, costume contests, and breakfast will be waiting at the conclusion of the walk. Click here to get your tickets today!

Dark Dining Houston
On March 21st, Prevent Blindness Texas hosted Dark Dining Houston to provide an experience to learn more about how vision loss can impact your life and raise funds to help individuals across the state connect to the care they need. Visual impairment knows no boundaries, and our honorees for the evening shed light on why preventing blindness and preserving sight is crucial to each of them.
“The women honored at PBT’s Dark Dining Houston embody what it means to be a change agent and live with purpose to make the lives better for the people they work with and serve. They are keen storytellers with the ability to weave passion, commitment, education, and advocacy into all that they do to engage people and move life-saving work forward. We are grateful to work with them and honor them.” Heather Patrick CEO of Prevent Blindness Texas

Sequins & Sneakers Spectacle
An inspiring evening in San Antonio!
What a night of edutainment! It was an evening full of sequins, sneakers and edutainment at the Sequins & Sneakers Spectacle presented by the Gordon Hartman Family Foundation as we honored Kelly Haight. With Blue Skies at the San Antonio Botanical Gardens, sequins sparkling everywhere, and the euphonious voice of entertainer Patsy Torres, guests were inspired by the work and impact of Kelly Haight who has touched so many lives and worked endlessly to improve vision care. He encouraged guests to push the limits of technology in the vision space and emphasized with your support Prevent Blindness Texas can continue to grow, and “we can turn the table of education, we can get more and more people to see better and to have a better life!” Thank you to all who joined us at the event, it was a pleasure to sing, dance, and learn with the San Antonio community!
